Our Story

I started BNA in a basement in 1977 with a simple goal: to help fellow business owners succeed. Growing up as the son of lifelong entrepreneurs, I saw firsthand both the opportunities and the challenges that come with running a business, and I knew I could make a difference.

From there, BNA grew one relationship at a time. Our team expanded, our services evolved and we had the opportunity to work with generations of families and businesses throughout York County and beyond.

Along the way, I also had the opportunity to welcome my sons into the business. Jason Ackerman joined BNA in 2012 and today serves as Co-Managing Partner. Adam Ackerman joined in 2016 and today serves as President of BNA Wealth. Seeing the next generation help lead BNA forward has been a meaningful part of our story.

As our customers’ needs grew, BNA grew with them. In 2018, Consolidated Investment Advisors joined BNA and became BNA Wealth, bringing accounting and wealth planning together and allowing us to support more of our customers’ financial lives under one roof. The wealth firm brought a long history of its own, having been founded by Larry Vitez in 1991.

Today, BNA calls a five-story building along the Catawba River home. A lot has changed since those early days, but the heart of BNA has stayed the same. We still want to know the people we work with, do good work for them and be part of the community around us.

2018

BNA Wealth Formed

Consolidated Investment Advisors joined BNA and became BNA Wealth, bringing accounting, advisory and wealth expertise together under one organization.

Today

One BNA

BNA grew into a connected team of professionals working across accounting, advisory and wealth to serve more of each customer’s financial picture.
