Meet Bernie
Bernie Ackerman founded BNA in 1977 and has spent nearly five decades building a firm grounded in trust, expertise, and long-term client relationships. A graduate of Emory University, he holds multiple advanced credentials that reflect his depth across both tax and financial planning.
Beyond his work with clients, Bernie has been deeply involved in the community, serving in leadership roles with organizations such as the Foundation for Fort Mill Schools, Rotary, and the York County Regional Chamber.

Meet Julia
Julia has been a key member of the BNA team since 2007, bringing nearly two decades of experience in accounting and financial planning. She holds both a BS and MBA from Winthrop University and combines her CPA and CFP® credentials to provide well-rounded, strategic guidance to clients.
Known for her thoughtful, client-focused approach, Julia plays an integral role in delivering BNA’s high-touch advisory experience. She is also actively involved in the community through organizations including the Fort Mill Rotary Club, the Downtown Co-op of Fort Mill, and the SCACPA.
