Bernard N. Ackerman

Bernie founded BNA in 1977 after beginning his career with Deloitte & Touche. A graduate of Emory University, he has spent nearly five decades building BNA around strong customer relationships and a commitment to the community.
A longtime advocate for York County, Bernie has served in leadership and volunteer roles with organizations including Nation Ford Land Trust, Rotary and the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was also named to the Forbes 2026 Best-in-State CPAs list.
His sons, Jason and Adam, later joined BNA, continuing the family’s involvement in the firm. Outside of work, Bernie enjoys walking, biking and traveling.
