Building the Next Generation
Meet BNA’s Summer 2026 Interns
Every summer, BNA welcomes students looking to gain experience, ask questions, and discover what a career in public accounting and professional services really looks like. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and day-to-day collaboration, our internship program gives students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom while contributing to the work we do every day.
This year, we’re excited to welcome Katie Bejian, Marshall Deese, and Kenneth Robinson to the BNA team.
Katie Bejian
Computer Science Major • Rhodes College
Student-athlete exploring the future of artificial intelligence in the workplace.
Katie joined BNA to gain real-world experience while exploring how technology supports modern accounting and business operations. A rising senior at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, she’s majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Psychology. Interested in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, she wanted to see firsthand how technology supports the accounting profession and improves the client experience.
— Katie Bejian
For Katie, the internship has reinforced just how closely technology and accounting work together to improve efficiency and better serve clients.
Katie’s impact has also been felt by the team around her. Last December, she independently led the bulk onboarding of individual clients into TaxNow. She returned this summer and has built on that experience by supporting the PenaltyBack initiative while helping our tax and administrative interns navigate active clients and identify potential IRS refunds.
Her contributions have made a lasting impression on BNA’s administrative team.
— Susan Cope, on behalf of BNA’s Administrative Team
Outside the office, Katie is a collegiate softball player who enjoys weightlifting, pickleball, and traveling.
Kenneth Robinson
Administrative Intern
Rising Catawba Ridge High School senior planning to study accounting in college.
Kenneth joined BNA to experience a professional office environment while exploring future career opportunities in accounting. His interest in the profession started early through his father, an Enrolled Agent who owns a tax practice, and he was eager to see what working at a CPA firm is really like.
One of Kenneth’s biggest takeaways has been seeing how much the profession has evolved.
— Kenneth Robinson
His experience challenged many of his assumptions while giving him a new appreciation for the role technology plays in serving clients.
When he’s not in the office, Kenneth enjoys playing soccer and golf, spending time with friends, and watching sports. He also had the opportunity to participate in a professional soccer trial with Charlotte FC.
Marshall Deese
Accounting & Finance Student • Anderson University
Double major in Accounting & Finance with a minor in Financial Planning.
Marshall has spent the summer learning about the accounting profession while gaining hands-on experience alongside BNA’s tax professionals. As a student at Anderson University, he was drawn to accounting because of his love for analytical thinking and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping families and businesses achieve their goals.
Just as meaningful as the technical experience has been the people he’s worked with.
— Marshall Deese
The experience has reinforced his interest in pursuing a career in accounting while giving him a firsthand look at the collaborative culture behind the profession.
Outside of work and school, Marshall enjoys golfing, pickleball, soccer, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Every internship is different, but each offers something that can’t be replicated in a classroom. By working alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real projects, and experiencing the day-to-day rhythm of the firm, interns gain a practical understanding of what their future careers can look like.
— Ashley Taylor, Head of Tax & Internship Program Coordinator
Looking Ahead
Internships are about more than gaining experience—they’re about building confidence, discovering new interests, and preparing students for the next step in their careers.
As BNA approaches 50 years of serving our community, investing in future professionals remains an important part of who we are. Each summer, we’re proud to provide opportunities for students to learn, contribute, and grow while gaining firsthand experience in a collaborative, people-first environment.
We’re excited to see where Katie, Kenneth, and Marshall’s journeys take them next.
